Do YOU have Vodacom Signal problems? South-Africa

You just bough the Vodacom 3G or even worse you just signed a Vodacom 3G data contract. The Problem is at home you JUST don't have a signal. When you returned the device to the store they tested it first, it works perfectly in the store, but when you try it out at home it just don't Work!!!!

You need a Signal Booster!

The problem is that our Network providers in South-Africa test their signals to get to certain areas! When a signal don't reach inside the house, it is just not financial viable for them to move their tower to supply signal inside one persons home!

Another problem is that our phones now consist out of different frequencies.
You have the 900 MHz, 1800 MHZ and 2100 MHZ bands.

Normally the 900 MHZ is used for edge, MTN uses 1800 for 3G and 2100 is supposed to be for LTE, but because of different factors the networks use 900MHZ for 3G and LTE.

This all causes problems as our newer smart phones don't know to which band to connect, especially if there is 2  towers near your area.

So to fix this you have two choices!

1. Cheaper but with limitations. (+/- R2500)
You can get an aerial and add an adapter to fit on your 3G modem. The limitation is that you will not be able to be mobile in your home. You will have to sit at this one spot, and another problem is that the cable with the aerial kit is only 10 m long.

2, More expensive but have a 30-50m radius. (+/- R9500)
This option is to get a 3G Booster. An areal will be installed on your roof(where there is a good 3G signal) then the booster will boost this signal up to 3 times. at +/- 100 m (depends on your house structure, the amount of steel etc) I have personally installed a lot of these units and it is the best option in my opinion.
